Despite not much pay increment (and bonus too!!) and ever-increasing food and petrol prices (aka inflation), both my hubby and I decided to change our 3-year old Hyundai Getz to a new Suzuki SX4 recently. Well, speculated that COE prices will increase eventually with the reduction in the supply in April 2008, we decided to sign on the dotted line for the car deal before Chinese New Year!! Guess we have made the right choice (check out the March COE prices!!)
Finally able to collect our new SX4 and decided to take half a day off from work. Yippee!! But also time to tighten our belts on our other expenses: Less dining at restaurants, less food, less fanciful toys and books for Regine and less Coffee breaks!!
And guess what, Hubby was so excited about collecting the new SX4 from the Toyota Borneos workshop situated next to the wharf that he spent almost an hour, checking the car thoroughly. Brought back memories of Dad and Mum who were always so excited about new cars. Remembered how Dad refused to drive his Mitsubishi Lancer back when they accompanied me to collect my yellow Hyundai Getz 3 years ago (and they did not mind squeezing into the much smaller car) and in the end, Greg's Mummy had to drive Dad's car back alone!!
